Mayer Hawthorne and the County

SOOOO, as some of you may know, I am absolutely in love with the sounds of Mayer Hawthorne. I managed to catch him live at ULU last week, thanks to an awesome buddy of mine, and I have to say, Mayer Hawthorne et all were amazing. They were all on top form. I danced, jumped and sang like there was no tomorrow, and even though my knee is still in pain, it was definitely worth it. Hands down one of the best live performances I’ve seen in a long time. Couple that with great friends = one of the best nights in a while!

I gotta say, I haven’t been inspired by music in what seems like forever (minus Tom Waits, but that goes without saying. Waitsy, you always got my heart), but listening to, and watching Mayer Hawthorne, has seriously given me a lovely kick up the rear end.

So, here is the image I’ve been working on and off for the past few days. It’s not perfect, and I will probably be re-working it at some point, but for now this will have to do!
